I have the 3c589 card working under Mandrake 7.2 but for some reason it
will not activate on bootup. I have to manually launch "netconf" and
refresh the network daemons for it to activate. Anyone know how I can
get the card to initialise on bootup? I do get a message saying eth0
init delayed which I assume is just because it needs to wait for the
pcmcia card services to kick in later on? I tried manually adding a
module line to my config.opts file but am not sure if I need some
specific options for my card? I am running kernel 2.2.17, and pcmcia-cs
3.1.20.

   i can't answer yout question, but wonder if you can send me
   in the right direction.

   i just installed RH6.1 on a Compaq laptop with exactly the
   same nic card as you. Is there any how-tos on how to configure
   this card under linux? any help will be appreciated.
   (i beleave rh6.1 got kernel 2.2.15 )
