: : I try to map d: to a file system that is in my exports file and the PC hangs.
: : Has anyone seen this problem. I am able to use telnet and ping from these
: : machines but NFS is not working.
: Try mapping the exported to file system to a drive >= F:. Drives A-E
: are normally reserved for local drives under DOS, while drives >= F: are
: reserved as net work drives.
Drives are drives...DOS isn't intelligent enough, a priori, to make
any distinctions. The hang is probably due to the RPC request to the
Linux waiting for a response. It is likely that one or more of
rpc.portmap, rpc.mountd, rpc.nfsd, rpc.ugidd or rpc.pcnfsd aren't
running on the designated server.
