Internet connection sharing - Win '98 and SuSE

Post by Ober » Sat, 07 Dec 2002 01:57:53

I've just set up a system dual-booting Win XP Pro and SuSE 7.3
Personal, which is networked to a Win '98 SE box with ICS enabled. My
question is, how do I set up SuSE to use the '98 machine as gateway? I
admit I'm pretty much a newbie here, so any information would be
greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,
Lawrence Matthews

Run 'YAST' and enter the 'Network config', there you should see related
lines about the network and gateway.
(The gateway IP on the Linux box is the Win-98 machines IP )

1. Solaris 7 and Windows 98 Internet Connection Sharing

Hi:

I use Verizon DSL to connect to the Internet. By using Windows 98 Internet
Connection Sharing, my personal network can access the Internet via the DSL
connection. Recently, I installed Solaris 7 into one of my PC. I set the IP
address of the Solaris PC as 192.168.0.9. My other PCs can ping the Solaris
PC and vice versa. I could like to use a web browser in the Solaris PC to
access the Internet. Does anybody know the way to set it up? I will
appreciate you very much.

Thanks.

Justin
