Hi,
I have an internetconnection(lan) at my home and connected with my win
95 pc.
I want to set up my internetconnection with my linux pc and therefore
I took the networkcard out of my win 95 pc and put them in my linux pc
then starting and he told me that he found a networkcard(linux rh6.2),
at this point he ask me also for an ip-address or for
automatic(DHCP-BOOTP), I choose automatic and then clicking ok,then he
shows for a second the window "sending DHCP request" after that he
wont go furder and he shows me not an ip-address.
Why is he not receiving an ip from the DHCP-server (win 95 is ok).
Is it some configuration in my linux(for configuration of the request)
or is it my provider his dhcp that detected that I am asking for an IP
with another PC?? (I use the same network card as I did with my win
95).
what can I do to test a DHCP-request or finding some
logginginformation.
Can anyone help me with this
Thanks in advance
Kris
