Problem going from USB to ethernet / NIC connection.

Problem going from USB to ethernet / NIC connection.

In an effort to solve a drop out problem I have, I'm going over from USB to
ethernet and NIC working.

Only problem is my PC won't play.

I've followed the instructions on
http://www.veryComputer.com/#pcconfig but to no avail.

I get an IP address in winipcfg for the correct adapter but it's
169.254.187.201 which is not what the web page tells me it should be. The
web page above reckons:

The IP range that should be showing will be:
62.252.***.***
62.253.***.***
62.254.***.***
62.255.***.***

But I can't browse the web or send / rx e-mail.

So it's back to USB and another long wait holding for support. *.

Anyone got any tips? When I reboot, I get presented with a window with
password and domain (or was it workgroup?) what do I put in there? Do I
click cancell or OK. Is this where the problem lies?

Cheers, Chris.

How are you going about getting your IP address, additionly, if you are using
DHCP, are you having issues with a different hardware address to the hardware
address on the USB device ?

See ya

1. Ethernet to USB gateway? (not USB to Ethernet)

Hello Readers,

There are many Ethernet adapters for the USB on the marktet. But I am
looking for an Ethernet to USB gateway - I haven`t found one yet.

I have an embedded PC with ethernet (10 MBit/s) and want to connect USB
devices to it. Is there any solution?

I know, that there are printer servers with USB available now, but could
they be used to connect other USB devices, too?

Maybe somebody can help...

Greetings
Ernst
