linksys wireless access point

Hi All,

I have seen several posts that say the Lucent Orinocco wireless
access point works in linux. Is that the only choice? I was looking
at the Linksys or the SOHO line of products. Has anyone had any success
in using
them in linux?

Thanks in Advance,

Leslie.................

Leslie,

I have the linksys access point/router and had no luck getting it to
work with Lunix using wireless.  pump and dhcpd fail to obtain IP
addresses.  I was able to use it wired.  Under Windows wireless
works just fine, but I didn't buy the box for Windows.  Maybe someone
else out there had better luck, if so I would appreciate hearing
from you.

Jim.

Depending on whether you are going PCMCIA or ISA/PCI cards, the old Aironet
stuff (now known as Cisco) works quite well in Linux as well without any
problems.

See ya
