Hi,

i tape : "tcpdump -i eth0"
and i have : "tcpdump: socket: Invalid argument"

What's the problem ??!!!

Is it possible that you have upgraded the kernel from say 2.2 to 2.4 but you
haven't upgraded/updated the tcpdump package. Get the latest version of the
"tcpdump" program and install it on your system. Hopefully, when you run the
new version, the invalid argument error will disappear.

ok i've found the problem
i hadn't configured my kernel with "packet socket" option

Hmm, that is interesting, there should be no real reason why you would get an
invalid argument return code if nothing has changed on your system. Does
upgrading tcpdump actually help you at all ?
