I have installed rp-PPPoE (version 2.0-1) on a dual pentium system
running redhat linux 6.1 (kernel version 2.2.12-20smp) and sharing the
connection using ip masquerading. I have no problem with http and ftp
but I did have problem with UDP (an online game everquest). Connection
drops everytime I try to connect to the game server, any suggestion?

if it is a quakelike you need to load the ip_masq_quake module (or something
like that). If not, then you need to do maybe something else...

But the thing is, my friends, having similar configuartion (but not on a SMP
system), don't have such problem. BTW Thanks for your information =), I'll try.

maybe your "similar configuration" on a not SMP system has the ip_masq_quake
module automatically loaded ! or maybe you've put some firewall rules on
your firewall that doesn't allows your game to be connected onto a remote
server...
try to load it (modprobe ip_masq_quake) and try again to play your game...
if it don't work and your game is not a quake like, then you need to find
specific information about how to setup your linux to be able to do what you
want for that specific game...

Sorry, I got another problem. I can use rp-pppoe in any fresh
installed Linux box. But once I compiled the kernel for optimization,
the rp-pppoe will not work. I have selected "packet sockets" in
kernel config and with pppd v2.3.11 which come along with RH6.2.
Is there anyone can help me to identify what is wrong? I MUST
compile the kernel for some reasons so.... :-)
