PPP Howto said it is not supported RPI modem. Is there any new version
of PPP support it? Regards.

1. any support for cheesy RPI modems?

I got one of those cheap 14.4 modems that use the Rockwell ATI
chipset, which will do V.42 compression only with accompanying
software.  Some windows software came with the modem which
does the compression/decompression (RPI format), but I haven't
seen anything in the linux com programs that supports this.  Can
anyone steer me to such a thing?
