I want to build a large Linux IP router with about 16 (fast)ethernet
ports. How many PCI network cards can be used in one system (they must
share the available IRQs)? Which (cheap) cards will work for this kind
of application? The machine will be built on a 18-PCI-slot backplane
with a P233MMX cpu card. Does anyone have experiences running a large
number of NICs on a Linux box?
