16 bit vs. 64 bit PCI NIC

This may be a dumb question, but what is the performance difference
between a 16 bit Ethernet card and a 64 bit PCI network card?  Isn't the speed
of the network a limiting factor to begin with?

well, assuming you could actually get a 64-bit PCI network card...all current
PCI cards and motherboards use 32-bit PCI.  the main advantages would be
easier configuration and lower CPU overhead.  the actual data transfer rates
over a 10Mb ethernet would not improve and significant amount.
