Help required for printing through Barricade print server.

I am using an SMC Barricade Router/Print Server to network 3 workstations
connected to the internet via a cable modem. Two workstations are running
Windows XP and one Suse 8 Linux.

I also have an HP 1220C connected to the print server. Printing is perfect
from the 2 XP workstations, but I am unable to print from the Linux
workstation. The Linux print set up recognises the print server and the
remote queue lp. The print system is set to LPR/LPRng. I am not receiving
any error messages when I send an item for printing. When I connect and
configure the printer on the Linux workstation it prints fine. Could anyone
offer me any help in getting my printer to work through the print server on
the Linux workstation?

David, can you print a text file to the remote queue? This sounds like
a problem with getting the data into a format that the printer likes.
I have a postscipt printer hooked to my SMC Barricade, and can print
to it flawlessly from my RH6.0/7.2 machines.

1. Howto send print jobs to a remote print server (SMC Barricade)

Hi,

I've recently purchased an SMC Barricade router/gateway that has an onboard
print server.  My linux box connects to the Barricade via ethernet and the
Barricade connects to the printer via a parallel port.

The Barricade router/gateway is advertised as supporting linux print jobs.

What do I need to do to be able to send print jobs to the print server on the
Barricade?

Thanks,

Michael
