Hey,

I'd like to install an IRC server for out local network. Are there any
pre-compiled servers avaible ? I looked at Sunsite, but I just found a few
clients.

Thanks for any answer,

Thorsten.

As far as I know there aren't any pre-compiled servers, but the source code
is as always available at cs-pub.bu.edu (/pub/irc/servers/irc2.8.21.tar.gz
at the moment, I think.)  Was not hard to compile at all, although it
will take some playing with the runtime ircd.conf file to get things to
work how you want them to.

Have fun,

For the one-millionth time, a pre-compiled IRC server is worthless.
There are many compile-time options that you must set, such as
pathnames to your config files.  irc2.8.21 will compile cleanly under
Linux.  Just follow the instructions.

BTW, it's on cs-ftp.bu.edu:/pub/irc/servers

If you say so... I've followed them and they just don't work. :( Oh
well... I'll try again. I must have missed something.

OK, I grabed version 2.9 and tried to compile it, but it didn't work. Does
anybody have a working Makefile or can anybody post the diffs to the general
distribution?

Thanks in advance,

Thorsten.
