I started out by reading the LDP PCMCIA howto at:
http://sunsite.unc.edu/mdw/HOWTO/PCMCIA-HOWTO.html
This document will tell you, step-by-step how to install the PCMCIA module for
Linux. If you have an older kernel (prior to 1.1.93), you will have to upgrade
(I did, it wasn't a huge deal). Then you just compile and install the PCMCIA
module, edit a couple of configuration files for your network, plug in your card,
and you're connected.

Come to the next UNIX users group meeting in Nieuwegein, it's annoucend in the
Computer!Totaal.
I have SNow running on a notebook with this exact 3com card.
Joost.
I also have a notebook with Linux from the Snow distribution
(partly) and this exact 3com card (actually 3c589B).
I haven't read the Computer!totaal yet, but perhaps I'll
be at the next meeting too.

1. Net Install of OpenServer 5 with 3c589 PCMCIA card.
Hi there.
I am in a bit of a fix in that I need to install SCO Open server 5 on to a
laptop which does not have a cdrom. I thought that to setup a network
installation server would work but when I create the client boot disk there
is only a cut down selection of network cards displayed. Not including the
3com 589 PCMCIA ( Even though the card is supported under SCO 5.
If anyone has any ideas on how I can get SCO onto the notepad please help
me out.
Thanks ........
Nils..........
