Netscape stalls

Post by Sten Kvamm » Wed, 23 Oct 1996 04:00:00

I have a problem with my Internet connection:
Netscape and HotJava stalls on certain sites (not all but most) and
allways the same sites. FTP from command line works fine.

I have the 2.0.21 kernel and Slackware 3.0
3c509 and 3c590 (tested both)
Mach 32
32MB/1GB
Pentium 75

What can be wrong?

I hear that there is a Java sensitive bug in Netscape or a  related   library.
No  firsthand  evidence though.  I turn off the Java option to avoid this, and
because I find most Java sites today employ it in  a  useless  manner,  mostly
for hype.

1. netscape stall

when i first execute netscape communicator or open big images, a
process
named  /usr/i386-glibc20-linux/lib/ld-linux.so.2 eats up all my system
resources
and I usually have to kill the process. I think it is about the
graphics library. does anyone know what this file is for?
