Higher than 115k serial i/o

Post by Kris Jorda » Fri, 08 Jan 1999 04:00:00

I'd like to know if there is a isa serial i/o card that would work in linux
at speeds higher than 115kbs.  I saw a Telebyte Model 480 Isa:

Dual Port
Data Rate to 460 KBPS
32K Buffers For Tx and Rx     16C650
Selectable Com1-Com4

I only need the one port.  But it does not list linux as compatible.

Thank you,

Kris Jordan

The Turbocom Turboport 920 from Pacific Commware (single port 16750) will work
with Linux.  I use one here.  It is a PnP board, so you will need isapnp
support.  Also, you will need one of the 2.1.xx kernels since 16750 wasn't
supported till then.

I've used one of the *Pro card at 230K with no problems. I had the
jumpers set so the 115K divisor was used though.

1. 115k serial card - checksum errors

I'm using a generic 16550A serial card to connect our
linux box to our ISDN adaptor and I'm seeing a lot of TCP/UDP
checksum errors.  Does anyone have any suggestions for other
high speed serial cards that we could use (nothing fancy - no
multiport wonders), or any configurations we could try to
improve things?
Running on a 486dx100 with an EISA bus.

Thanks in advance.  Email reply would be best - I'll post a
summary of what I decide/receive.

2. Compiling kernel to ignore usb floppy when not installed.

3. 115k high speed serial driver

4. dynamic IPSEC flows

5. High Speel Serial (>115k)

6. Linux: how do i know wich terminal port?

7. Serial Speeds Greater than 115k

8. ickle-gnome

9. serial port speed higher than 38400

10. Can't set serial console line speed higher than default

11. Serial Port Higher than 115.200 bps

12. Serial speeds higher than 115200 bps

13. Serial Ports higher than 38400???
