sendmail: how to refuse spam?

Post by Lee All » Thu, 01 Jan 1998 04:00:00

Up till now, I was willing to endure the dozen or so spams that I
receive each day.  That's the price of using newsgroups.  But today I
received a 79K bulk email and I have had enough.

Can someone tell me how to configure sendmail to refuse email from
known spammers?  I know, I could probably figure this out by RTFM, but
in the case of sendmail, the FM is just too darned big.

In addition, if anyone could provide such a list (known spammers and
bulk emailers) that would also be appreciated.

Thanks.

Go to the sendmail web page for a whole section on spam -- new
filtering mechanisms incorporated into sendmail itself, Q&A, other
sites dealing with spam.

plush-toy daemon?  I tried to mail back asking if I was on some sort of
mailing list and got the ad back again (in English and German this
time).
It's kinda annoying.
