Isolating TCP stack and network drivers (re-post)

Post by name » Sat, 11 Jul 1998 04:00:00

I am interested in isolating the TCP/IP and network driver that is
available in Linux.
1) Could someone point out to me what directories/files I should be looking
in for TCP/IP and network driver support?
2) For those who have worked with TCP/IP and network driver code in linux -
do you think that the linux network support is isolated enough that I
could graft it onto another non-un*x OS?

Thanks,
Alex

The logical place to start, I think, would probably be in the net
subdirectory of the Linux kernel source distribution, available from you
friendly neighborhood ftp site for a cost of . . . NOTHING!! :)  Anyhow,
that's where the code is, mostly.
