an two othe linux machnines as normal hosts.
now i can  build up a connection from every machine.
surfing is absolutly o.k, but if i connect to a ftp server
outside my local net, following happens:

i can login normally,  but after i am logged in an i type e.g.
ls, the following message returns:

cannot connect to 192.168.0.91 (only to xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx)
192.168.0.91 is the machine where started the ftp client and the
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx adress
is the ip, my provider gave my dynamiclly (ip of the route machine).

i'm guessing that you're using masquerading to do this...

masquerading requires a patch (special module) to run ftp, because ftp
protocol connects back to the client on various ports.  depending on
your install, you may already have the module installed, you only need
to enable it.  if not, you may need to recompile the kernel.

i don't remember the exact name of the module, but i think it's called
something like

masq_ftp

hope this helps

then do a 'route add default xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx' to correct
address. Double check route table and move on. The actual
default router your ISP is using should not change. Determine
what it is and change the rc set-up files to reflect correct
gateway.
Good Luck..

1. Need help on Starcraft via ISDN->Linux Router->IPX-Routing->Win98

You're gonna need to use CHAP to send/recv the user/pass to/from the
other people.  Read the PPP howto for info on how to configure the
"options" and "chap-secrets" files to get this going.  Then, you'll need
to make sure you have IPX support in the kernel.  Lastly, you'll need to
find a program which will route the packets between everyone.  The
problem is that Starcraft seems to send "broadcast" packets over a PPP
(dialup) link.  This means that linux doesn't route them.  I've tried
setting
up this sort of thing VIA the inet with VPN (having everyone connect to
my linux box), and I wound up trying to write my own program (based on
a program called "ipxbridge") which would listen for broadcasts on every
PPP link, and then send them to every other PPP.  I had it working with 2
people, but more than that seems to mess up.  I'd be glad to hear what you
can find and do, so please post and/or email with updates.
