RH 7.1 doesn't recognize NetGear FA311 card

Post by x » Mon, 15 Oct 2001 05:14:53

No msgs from OS during boot up; modprobe natsemi gets

PCI: No IRQ known for interrupt pin A of device 00:13.0. Please try using
pci=biosirq.

Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

thanks,
David

Check to see whether you have PNP operating system enabled in your BIOS.  You
might like to switch off your PNP OS installed option and see whether or not
Linux is then able to allocate you an IRQ for your network card.

See ya

1. RH 7.1 Install doesn't recognize CD-ROM

Hi folks,

Hopefully someone here smarter than me can figure this one out.  I'm
trying to install RH7.1 on an old computer.  I burned the RH CD's
using Nero Burning Rom. And I created the boot disk with rawrite (just
like the instructions on the RH site said).  Everything seems to go
fine up until it asks me "What type of media contains the packages to
be installed"  I tell it local CDROM and immediately it tells me it
cannot find a RH CDROM in any of my CD-ROM drives.  It doesn't look
like it even tries to access the drive (at least the little green
light doesn't come on).  There is no operating system on the computer
and I cannot boot from the CD drive.

Does anyone have any ideas what could be wrong?

Thanks!

-Tom
