multi-ppp dial-up connections to ISP???

multi-ppp dial-up connections to ISP???

Post by Josh Su » Wed, 10 Jan 2001 19:04:28

I want to use one linux box as the gateway of our network to access
Internet.

Our ideal bandwidth is around 256 or 384.  We can use 2 or 3 isdn
connections or 5-6 56k modems.

Is there any module that can dial up according to the actual bandwidth
demand?

Also we want to have load balance among those ppp connections. If our ISP
does not support multi-link, we must find a method to bundle those
connections.

Using IPmasq is a way to share the connection.  But how about the load
balance?

Please provide some hints.

1. Exchanging email with an ISP over a dial-up connection

I've just configured my standalone Solaris (x86, v2.6) to dial into my ISP
using pppd. What's the best way to configure the system to exchange email
with my ISP ?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
