I've installed the gopherd package in the current Debian distribution.
It unpacked, installed and configured without any obvious problems, and
appears to be set up correctly to run under inetd. I've made the
appropriate changes to the gopherd.conf and gopherdlocal.conf files, and
placed some test files in my gopher-root directory, but when I try to
connect to my machine via gopher, the gopher client gets a message that
nothing is available.
I know the gopherd server is responding--I can telnet to the gopher
port on my machine and do a <tab>! and get back the admin info, abstract
etc..., but I just can't seem to get it to send back files, directories,
etc...
Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!
