Where is a HOWTO to get a 1 linux box to allow a SLIP or PPP connection via dial in phone to my box in
order to pick up e-mail do local stuff (telnet/ftp etc).

The NET-2 HOWTO also has some information, and the ppp-2.2.0c package
comes with pretty good instructions for installing ppp.

1. HOWTO: becoming a dial-up PPP server, enabling PPP login?
I am looking for information on configuring a Linux system as a dial-up
PPP server. (Don't worry, I am not going into business---this is
strictly for my own education and utility.) I want to give user/users
the ability to dial-in to a machine and access FTP, WEB, Mail, etc.
servers using dynamic IP addresses.
So far, I cannot seem to find a comprehensive reference for how to do
this. (I can get get the FTP, etc. servers up and responding on
loopback. I can get the modem to answer the phone. How do I enable a
login to PPP services from the dial-up connection with a *dynamically
assigned* address?) (I don't need information on how to get a machine
to dial into an ISP, I need it from the ISP's end---how does an ISP
enable a dial-in PPP connection?) The references I am finding all seem
to have missing links in the process.
Any references greatly appreciated.
