What is contents of /etc/exports?
Did you run exportfs to tell nfsd about the new /etc/exports?

1. NFS file sharing mount gives permission denied ...
Hi All Gurus,
I am using NFS to share files between two linux servers using Redhat 8.0
professional. I have created /etc/exports using NFS server configuration
GUI as follows on server2.
/backup1/ 192.168.1.*(rw,insecure,sync,no_root_squash)
NFS etc services are running on both systems. IP tables service is
disabled for both systems.
I am able to share files of server1 in server2 doing similar entries but
when i try to mount files of server2 in server1 i keep getting
mount :... failed, reason given by server: Permission denied.
showmount -e shows exported entries of server2
What are other things that needs to be checked for permission denied?
there are no entries in /etc/hosts.allow and /etc/hosts.deny on both
machines.
Any help is appreciated.
