Hello.
First off, a quick apology to all who have answered my questions in the
past who I did not reply to.
Now, here's the problem: Here at Ball State U., the use of IPs to access
the internet is done over Novell IPX. I have, in the past, been able to
set up simple FTP servers that can be accessed using the IP address that
the TCP/IP drivers were set up to use. The odd thing is that the IP
addresses are not machine specific - they will work from any machine
physically hooked up to the server and running IPX. My question is will
I be able to set up a Linux server by simply hooking it up to the
network (it's a 10-baseT network) and using one of the network compatable
slackware kernels? Will I have to do some stuff to connect it via IPX
and then TCP/IP? Any help would be appreciated. Reply by mail if possible.
THANKS!
