bind nfs to one interface only?

Post by peter pils » Thu, 11 Dec 2008 22:12:48

Is it possible to secure nfs and bind it only to a specific interface?

I use ubuntus nfs-kernel-server and which means that I deal with
rpc.statd and rpc.mountd.

I didnt find any command-line options here or other ways to bind nfs
only to the interface where i need them. (a vpn-interface)

thnx
peter

No. If you need a firewall, you need a firewall. Fortunately, Linux
comes in with a build in firewall.

If power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely, where does that leave God?

1. How do I bind telnetd (or ftpd) to run only on one interface?

Hello all

I've several AIX 5.1 and 4.3.3 servers with several interfaces. Cause
of security I don't want the telnetd (or ftpd) running on all of this
interfaces.
sshd has the option "ListenAddress" in the sshd_config file. Is there
something simular for telnetd ftpd etc.?

Regards,
Didi
