Dear All,

I'm searching for a wireless lan card that will accept external
antennas from improved reception over distance. I have a IBM ThinkPad
and am running Linux Mandrake 8.1.

The solution can be a hack to an existing product, I'm interested in
how it could be done. I want to be able to communicate to my base
station while mobile, usually within 1KM!

I've searched the usual places but no-one seems to mention adding an
external antenna or even if its possible.

You can connect external antennas to any Orinoco card, check out
