www.dynip.com

They charge. I don't know if there's any free dynamic IP address
services like this, since ml.org went down.

1. help with web server and dynamic ip address please

Hi everybody,

I have a DSL line from Verizon, a dynamic IP address and use dyndns.org to
bind a domain name 'prager.homeip.net' to my system.
I successfully set up the Apache http daemon "Apache/1.3.22 (Unix)" and can
access my web page http://www.prager.homeip.net from inside my network
without any problems.
(The only thing that is really strange is, an invalid URL typed into my
browser always calls my
website per default. Is that a DNS issue? The pitfall with that is, that I'm
not really sure if (what
I assume as) the valid URL really works.

I can also do a traceroute from the external service
http://www.slac.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/nph-traceroute.pl?target=www.pra...
eip.net. But nobody from the outside can access my web page. I don't see log
entries from other IP addresses neither in access_log nor in error_log. I'm
using also iptables v1.2.4. But http services are allowed for incoming
traffic there.

I have no idea how to nail this problem down. Could somebody provide me with
a little help here?
Thank you so much,
-- Bernd
