My setup is : Abit BP6 Mobo (SMP)
2x500mhz Celeron CPU's (not overclocked)
1x NE2000 Clone NC (ISA slot 2)
1x RAGE IIc AGP VC
I.P : 196.0.0.100
hostname : muon
second machine I.P: 196.0.0.101 (uniproc Win95)
hostname: lepton
These are the only machines on the LAN. I'm using BNC connectors and I
know the cable works.
Points below refer to muon.
- I know the NC works. I tried it on a uniproc Win95 machine and a
uniproc Linux 2.0.35 machine.
- I've tried with 2.2.13-SMP and 2.2.15-SMP and it does the same thing
ne.o is compiled is a module and it loads fine according to
"/var/log/messages" attached below.
- I can ping the machine ( muon) 196.0.0.100 from the console. i.e. it
pings itself.
- When I try to ping another machine in the LAN. i.e. 196.0.0.101
I get the following error:
