wu-ftp guest account

wu-ftp guest account

I have gotten wu-ftp to take guest accounts in and chroot them into the
users www_root directory.  The problem that i am having now is... on
most platforms and windows gui ftp clients, you can't see the files in
the directory.  I first thought that it was a file permissions problem,
but everything looks correct.

Anyone have any ideas what could cause this and more importantly fix
this problem??

1. Wu-ftp troubles with setting up guest accounts

I'm a relative newbie to Linux so bear with me.  I'm trying to set-up a
buddy of mine for ftp access but I don't want him to be able to get out of
his "home" directory, but I want him to be able to do anything he wants
within his "home" directory.  I went to this page on the Wu-ftpd web site
and followed the instructions: http://www.wu-ftpd.org/HOWTO/guest.HOWTO and
I'm able to log in as my friend via ftp, but I don't see any files or
directories (and there are some in there).  The odd thing is that I seem to
be able to make directories but for some reason I can't see them.  Does this
have something to do with CHMOD or is it something else.  I have his "home"
directory set as 0755 and he is the owner while "client" is the group.  Any
help would be greatly appreciated.  BTW - I'm using RH 7.0.

TIA,
Scott
