IPFW fix wanted

IPFW fix wanted

Post by Syso » Sat, 30 Sep 1995 04:00:00

Hi,

Having got ipfw running fine, I can't get it to work with
ftp.  ie.  Machine B on network can't use ftp through machine A
to another network.

Reading the docs with the program, it does indicate that ftp
and talk will not work but a fix was in the process.

Anyone have any news on this?

What about a mailing list for ipfw?

PLEASE email me and I'll post back into this newsgroup.

Thanks a million :-)

Jag

IPFW fix wanted

Post by Jared Mau » Mon, 09 Oct 1995 04:00:00

I've noticed that IPFW when doing accounting gets limited in the number
of bytes to a long integer.  I typically have uptimes of 5-10 days between
kernel updates, and have 1-2GIG a day of network traffic.  It resets shortly
after 4GB.  Can we find some way to increase this number?  :-)

1. compile fix ipfw

In the patch that went to marcelo a few days ago the reset
argument to ip_chain_procinfo() got removed, but there's still
a code block inside the function that references that variable.

This patch gets rid of that (presumably old) code block. Note
that I didn't cc this to Marcelo because I'm not 100% sure, so
please check it.
