Netscape Bus Error

Netscape Bus Error

Post by Dwight Johns » Thu, 09 May 1996 04:00:00

I just installed Netscape 2.01. I am a newbie to Linux. I have
Slackware 3.0  installed. I installed both Mosaic and Lynx and they
run with no problems.

When I try to execute Netscape, I get a number of:

Cannot allocate Colormap Entry

errors followed by:

Bus Error

and a wipeout.

As I said, I am a total newbie to Linux and Unix. To execute Netscape
I just open xterm in XFree and type 'netscape'. (That's basically what
the downloaded README says to do.)

Does anyone understand how to fix this?

Thanks in advance,
Dwight Johnson

1. Netscape: bus error with java

I am running Netscape 2.0b6 and Red Hat 2.1.  When I try to access
http://sun.java.com (or any page using java) Netscape exits with an error
message 'Bus error'.  Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Thanks!
