I succeed to make all what written in chapter 5 (of the BRIDGE-STP-HOWTO)

but when I tried to make the bridge as in chapter 6 of

http://www.ibiblio.org/mdw/HOWTO/BRIDGE-STP-HOWTO/set-up-the-bridge.html

I have a problem:

if I type: brctl the computer gives me all the options regards this command

and for brctl show it gives the title of the (empty) table

but

for: modprobe -v bridge the comment is: Can't locate module bridge

for: brctl addbr the comment is: br_add_bridge: Packet not installed
