Check the logs, they surely will tell where (or around where) the problem
is. /var/log/mail.log is where Qmail stores log information by befault. A
good way to obtain a detailed track of what's going on is monitor this log
file with "tail -f /var/log/mail.log" and then, from another
console/xterm, try sending a message the way it is causing problems.
If you can't find the problem, go to www.qmail.org and check the "Qmail
big pictures", where is it explained the way each Qmail component behaves
when sending and delivering messages. That should help.
