Hi,
I have just installed Suse's package 7.1 linux 2.2.4 on my machine and now I
want to connect to the net from linux.
Here is my current setup:
- 2 computers running on win 98.
- computer A connects to net using a dsl modem (speedstream 4060 USB)
- computer B connects to A using ethernet.
- the NIC cards are Linksys Etherfast 10/100 and there is a hub in
between the computers.
- the s/w for internet connection from other computer is Microsoft
Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)
Since there are no linux drivers for that modem I can't access to
internet when on linux but I guess I can get access via computer
B. That computer has windows 2000 too and I would like to connect to
net using that operating system.
Now I would like to know two things:
- how to connect from linux machine to windows 2000 machine
- how to share the internet with windows 2000 machine
Can someone give me instructions for the setup? Please understand that
I am newbie in networking stuff so please be descriptive if you can.
Thanks for your reply,
Vikas
