Dears
I come with this purpose to ask you help.
At the work we have Qmail runnig. We were attacked by the w32/SirCam...
(if you Know what I mean) and like we dont have any antivirus on the
machine of mail the things got a little complicated.
I found out that one possible solution was the qmail-scanner.
The problem is with the installation of the Qmail-scanner. I will show
you the setps that i've followed.
1) Made backup of the current configuration
2) unpack the qmail-scanner
3) read the documentation about it ...
4) Ive issued the ./configure <with my otions > -install and I've got
the message:
YOU HAVEN'T DISABLED SET-ID SCRIPTS IN THE KERNEL YET
5) doing some work and search i've download an wrapper to obtain the
qmail-queue. (I used the wrapsuid). and then I've not got the message
obtained in the step 4.
However if i Try to check to correct configuration running the
qmail-queue.pl -h I obtain the following message:
item Script is not setuid/setgid in suidperl (if I remember so)
6) I work around about the permissions, but sitll the same thing...
By the way I was trying to install the qmail-scanner without the
assigned QMAILQUEUE, however there is not much documentation about this
process of installation ( I Know that it is a risk ).
But for some reasons I dont want to have to recompile the qmail. Or is
the installation of patch the QMAILQUEUE (provided on the site of qmail)
simple ???
Please give any ideas, I'm starting to desesperate ....
And I really need qmail-scanner since i must work with the Mcafee
antivirus.
