3Com CS/2500 Multiprotocol communication server

3Com CS/2500 Multiprotocol communication server

I am setting up a network at work.

At one location is the server--a Compaq Proliant 2500.

At another location connected to the server via a T1 is an ethernet
network containing about 30 pcs and 3 3Com cs/2500 multiprotocol comm
servers with about 30 printers attached to the serial ports.  The comm
server is attached to the ethernet via the aui port.

At yet another location is essentially a mirror of the second location.

I am in the setup phase of this project and my question is this:

From the Linux Server (Compaq) side, how to I set up the printing to the
serial printers attached to each of the 6 3Com comm servers?

If anyone could point me in the right direction I would be appreciative.

I have read/am reading the ethernet=howto, serial-howto and
printing-howto.  My impression from the reading so far is that I would
treat the 3Com comm servers as remote printing servers as far as the
printcap entries are concerned since each one will have its own ip
address.  However, something in the printing-howto regarding old HP
jetdirect printers leads me think I need the perl script solution
outlined in that howto.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Darla Baker

1. Communications Server Sense 0812-0007 using Multiprotocol Adapter

I have a C20 that I am trying to connect to the mainframe via a port on the
2700 4-port Multiprotocol Adapter card to an MVS mainframe communicating
with LU 6.2.  I can establish a session from the RS/6000 with no problem.
When I attempt to establish a session from the mainframe, I get sense
0812-0007, which indicates "Receiver cannot act on the request because of a
temporary lock of resources: Insufficient resources are available for LU
address allocation".

I haven't seen this error before nor have been able to figure what is wrong.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance
