lynx, arena and netscape 4.04

Post by Feng Shaom » Mon, 20 Apr 1998 04:00:00

Dear friends:
I have only one linux box and only use loopback.  I hope to test my
CGI program and invite my friends to access my APACHE server.
I can get my dynamic IP address (e.g. 210.24.67.21) with ifconfig
after I run script file 'ppp-on &' which connect to my ISP correctly.
If I use 'lynx 210.24.67.21/~Feng/index.shtml', I can access my APACHE
server correctly.
If I use arena, open address 'http://210.24.67.21/~Feng/index.shtml',
I still can access my homepage correctly (include CGI and SSI).
But if I use netscape 4.04, and open same address, always report my
server shutdown.

The three browsers can access my APACHE server if I use localhost
or 127.0.0.1.   i.e.   http://localhost/~Feng/index.shtml

Pls help me to solve this problem.

Thanks a lot.

Shaomin

1. Red Hat 5.0 & Netscape 4.04: Netscape out of memory error?

Hi,

I'm running Netscape 4.04 (from Red Hat's RPM) on Red Hat 5.0, and every time I
try to send a message within the mail client Netscape pops up a dialog reading
"Netscape is out of memory. Try quitting some other applications or closing some
windows."

It seems to be consistent i.e. it does it every time you try and send an email
message.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Cheers,

Paul.
