1. PPP & ppp.linkdown problem
I have problem with PPP which I have not been able to resolve for two
days. I use TZO to provide me with both DNS resolution and Mail
Store/Forward capability. I'm using cURL to provide both logon and
logoff capability with TZO and both script work well when run from the
root userid. But, when used with PPP the logoff script never
successfully excutes and I am unable to see why it fails. What I do
suspect is that PPP is dropping the connection before the script is able
to logoff TZO. The following is a cut/paste from the ppp.log:
Aug 13 07:43:15 neptune ppp: tun0: Phase: Idel timer expired.
Aug 13 07:43:15 neptune ppp: tun0: IPCP: deflink: LayerDown:
Aug 13 07:43:15 neptune ppp: tun0: Command: MYADDR: !
Aug 13 07:44:30 neptune ppp: tun0: IPCP: Using trigger affress
Aug 13 07:44:30 neptune ppp: tun0: IPCP: deflink:
SendTerminateReq(15) status = Opened
Aug 13 07:44:30 neptune ppp: tun0: IPCP: deflink: State change Open
Aug 13 07:44:30 neptune ppp: tun0: Phase: deflink: Carrier lost
The ppp.downlink contains the following:
# iface clear (to enable soon)
The ppp.downondemand.sh contains:
I am unable to view the contents of the ppp.downondemand.sh since my
machine has already disconnected. But, the script works if executed
from the root userid.
Therefore, why isn't the script logging me off TZO? Is me assumption
correct, that ppp is dropping the IP link before the script is able to
execute? If so how can this be changed? ... or ... Have I missed
something obvious and what should be chaned?
