I think this is a routing prob, because 212.74.140.206 should know that
212.74.140.203..5 is behind gateway 212.74.140.201

( Clean version ) 2 Network cards on the same subnet/firewall/routing

I had a problem with two NIC's both on the same subnet and was told that was
a no-no. So, I changed the third octal of the second NIC so something
different. For example:

eth0    192.168.1.254
eth1    192.168.2.254

Now both of the NIC's work, though I had to modify other aspects of my
network to accomodate this change.

1. 2 network card on the same subnet/firewall/routing

Hi all,

I'm having trouble to setup my firewall. I would like to have this kind of
design. but I'm not sure that's possible as I would.

Internet router 212.74.140.206

                  |
          eth0 |

          | Firewall

          |                          | 212.74.140.202              |

212.74.140.203    212.74.140.204
           -----------------                                         |

                                                                        ----

                                                                       -----

Private Net.       Private Net.

As you can see, i have two IP adress on the same subnet. The first one
(eth0 ) is connected to my Internet router ( 212.74.140.206 ) and the second
( eth1 ) is connected to an Hub where i want to put all my server on it.

I would use 212.74.140.202 as default gateway for all the server that i have
on the subnet and used eth0 to forward ( IPChaining ) packets to Internet. I
have already setup the firewall and it was working very well, when eth1 was
on my private network. But when i changed my IP adress to have the two
network card on the same subnet one of the interface doesn't respond. It
seems to be a routing problem but i have no idea how configure/fixe my
Firewall.

Any help will be really appreciate.  If you need to have more details, let
me know.

Thanks in advance

P.S. I'm using Redhat 6.0 to do it ( Kernel 2.2.5-15 )
