HELP! with LinkSys Ether16 network card on RH5.1

Post by DK » Wed, 22 Jul 1998 04:00:00

I would like to know if anyone is using the above cards for a home lan
and are they compatible with RH5.1?
I have the same cards soft configured for io=280 and IRQ=5 and I've
removed those addresses from plug and play detection. I am unable to
detect the cards under NE2000 compatible devices during installation and
neither at bootup. Any helpful hints will be appreciated!

I use an EtherPCI (which I believe is mostly the same except for the
obvious) in
Redhat 5.0.  I only configured the IRQ.  It detects the IO for me on
startup.  Try
it out.

HELP! with LinkSys Ether16 network card on RH5.1

I'm using this card at home with a 2.0.33 kernel (slakware not RH, but that
shouldn't make a difference) - io=300 and irq=11.  Am using the ne2000
driver that D. Becker wrote, and all is working fine.  Does the card work ok
with another os (like windoze95)?
