Very Computer

Hello-

I have a firewall running RH 7.3. I've configured the tripwire config

tripwire-check and edit it to email. I run a cron job every night.....

* 3 * * * /misc/tripwire-check > /dev/null

For some reason last night, cron fired off 184 tripwire-check scripts.
Slow the firewall to a crawl. Luckily I was able to remote login ( took
forever ) and reboot the box. I suspecting this has happen twice before
( slow logins ). I tried set  that cronjob to go off a couple of minutes
from the present time and observe it through top.  I didn't see anything
out of the ordinary.

Any every come across this problem?

This means: start /misc/tripwire-check/ every minute from 03:00 to 03:59, so
at 04:00 you have 60 copies running if they don't finish before that time.
