I got ioctl(TIOCSCTTY):Operation not permitted when I run pppd. How can
I solve this? Best regard.

1. pppd ioctl (TIOCSCTTY) error

Anyone know what's going on with this error:

pppd[]: ioctl (TIOCSCTTY): operation not permitted
        pppd[]: Exit.

I use a program to call pppd (with exec) when pppd goes down. The program is executable
and run as root. PPPD works fine when I run it as root from the command line.
PPPD version is 2.1.2 and the Kernel is 1.2.13

I'm trying out the 'persist' option based on a previous note here, but haven't
seen it documented anywhere.

Any help appreciated,
- Sam
