Q: Waiting for 3c509 to discard packet???

I am using a 386 DLC (8MB) for routing and mailing.
There are two ISA net cards ( 3c509 & ne2000( on local net) ) , ports  
and onboard IDE in it. I've set up kernel 2.0.21.
It seems that all work fine.

But periodicly  I receive a lot of messages (50-150) :
   Waiting for 3c509 to discard packet, status 0x20XX.
where XX is 01,05,11,15.
And I have troubles : routing is down, pop3 client can't connect to box.

Does anybody know:
  Is it hardware or software problem ??
  Solution ?

1. 3c509 : Waiting for 3c509 to discard packet, status 2001. ???

I get a lot of "Waiting for 3c509 to discard packet, status 2001."
with my 3c509b-combo network card... (I think this problem appears
somewhere between 2.0.0 and 2.0.24).
For example, I get a lot of them (sometimes more than 1 per minute)
with X (over the network, of course).

Where's the problem ?
Any idea ?
