Problem building wu-ftp 2.4 with linux 2.0.0

Post by Jyi-Jiin L » Wed, 12 Jun 1996 04:00:00

I was building wu-ftp-2.4 (from sunsite) and had an error attached
behind. I tried to avoid the DIR definition in /usr/include/dirent.h
by defining DIRENT_ILLEGAL_ACCESS, it compiled OK, but the resulting
ftpd does not take wild character. Did somebody have a fix for this?

My system is
  slackware 3.0
  Linux 2.0.0
  libc 5.2.18
  libm 5.0.5
  gcc 2.7.2
  make 3.74

Thanks

I had the same problem but gettingt the latest version resolved this problem.
The file glob.c needs a small modification. Contact me directly and I can also
send you a patch.

Best regards,

Anton

P.S. The version I am refering to is: wu-ftpd-2.4-21.tar.gz

It's 14 Jun 96  03:58,

Can you please tell me where you got this version from?  I've also had
similar problems compiling wu-ftpd, though under kernel 1.2.13.

Meanwhile, I'll sniff aroundthe FTP sites myself. :-)

... A low yield atomic bomb is like being a bit pregnant.

1. wu-ftp 2.4 - Compile problems

I get the following errors when trying to compile wu-ftp v2.4 on my system

Making ftpd.

gcc -O2 -I.. -I../support -I/usr/include/bsd -I/usr/include/netinet -L../support   -c ftpcmd.c -o ftpcmd.o

ftpcmd.y: In function `yyparse':
ftpcmd.y:371: `cmdtab' undeclared (first use this function)
ftpcmd.y:371: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once
ftpcmd.y:371: for each function it appears in.)
ftpcmd.y:383: `sitetab' undeclared (first use this function)
ftpcmd.y: At top level:
ftpcmd.y:885: `cmdtab' used prior to declaration
ftpcmd.y:936: `sitetab' used prior to declaration
ftpcmd.y:1520: warning: type mismatch with previous external decl
ftpcmd.y:683: warning: previous external decl of `print_groups'
ftpcmd.y:1520: warning: type mismatch with previous implicit declaration
ftpcmd.y:683: warning: previous implicit declaration of `print_groups'
ftpcmd.y:1520: warning: `print_groups' was previously implicitly declared to return `int'
make: *** [ftpcmd.o] Error 1

Then the compile aborts.

Any help on where I can get a pre-compiled version or makefiles that work would be greatly
appreciated.

Please email replies.
