quota problem

quota problem

Hi, perhaps someone can help us with this problem:

We are running SuSE Linux 5.3 (Kernel 2.0.35) as Master-Server for our Network.
We have decided to enable Mail-quotas for all our users in our network.
Our Linux-Master Server is also our Mail-Master so we added qouta-support
for the /var (ext2-fs) -directory (exported via NFS) on the Master.
Everything works perfect with the qouta on the Master, but as we tried
to use "quota" or "qouta -v" on our Solaris, Sun-OS or AIX-Machines,
we went into trouble:

1) "quota -v" on Linux:
Filesystem  blocks   quota   limit   grace   files   quota   limit   grace
      /dev/sda3    4651*   4000    5000   7days       3       0       0

That's exactly what we want, but now (for the same user):

2) "quota -v" on Solaris / Sun-OS:
Filesystem     usage  quota  limit    timeleft  files  quota  limit    timeleft
/tmp_mnt/local/mailspool
               18868  16000  20000382.8 months      3      0      0

3) "quota -v" on AIX:
Filesystem  blocks   quota   limit   grace   files   quota   limit   grace
/tmp_mnt/local/mailspool   18868*  16000   2000010719days       3       0       0

There seems to be a calculating-problem betweem the systems
(or maybe a buggy rpc.rqoutad ?)
(we use quota-1.70 by Marco van Wieringen on our Master)

Thank you for help

1. Newbi prob: Strange quota problem and Fstool problem

Hi

I recently installed RH5.1 and KDE. Most works fine, but after a while I
cant create files or folders in my home-dir, I get a not enough space on
device. I can create stuff fine as root in the same folders. I tested
quota, but it says no limits on my normal user. This is a quite annoying
problem.

(Btw, how do I check available space on a device?)

Another strange problem: I cant start fstool anymore (from
Control-panel) I get this strange error on my stdout:

locale failed.
perl: warning: Please check that your locale settings:
        LC_ALL = (unset),
        LANG = "EN"
are supported and installed on your system.
perl: warning: Falling back to the standard locale ("C").
    while executing
"close $fd"
    (procedure "reload" line 45)
    invoked from within
"reload"
    (file "/usr/bin/fstool" line 1454)

Maby it started go wrong after KDE installation , but I'm not sure, KDE
works fine otherwise.
