Hi,

can anyone tell me if there is a step by step for installing Linux on a
network?

I have a 25 user network, presently running Netware 3.12. PCs are a
mixture of Dos/W95/WFW3.11.

I have been asked by client to check out fesability of using Linux
instead of Netware for new site next month, using similar hardware.

This will be a structured network (3com switching hub), not shared, using
3Com 3c59x 10bit cards on clients and 10/100 auto-sensing on linux
server.

So! ...

Having just got RH 4.2 up and running (albiet without XWindows, but I
dont really need it...), I am stumped as to where to go next, and yes, I
have read the Howto's and FAQs on my distribution CD.

Has anyone gone thru this who can give me the basics of where to start.
what to watch for, etc?

Cancel the support force !!

- We were using a standard 3com ISA card that worked fine in W95/Novell
setup - removed it and replaced with PCI and bang - the things working!

I used it to set up my first network (my W95 box and a RH5.0 Linux
box as file server).
