problems installing DLINK DWL-650 and the WLAN package under Linux-Mandrake 8.0

Hi all,

I am having a devil of a time getting my wireless PCcard nic card
working under linux. Its a DLink DWL-650 pc card.

Originally I had problems because my distribution didn't install the
kernel and pcmcia sources by default. I installed kernel-2.2.19 and
pcmcia-cs-3.1.25 within the /usr/src folders.

Here's the content of my WLAN's "configure.mk" file:

LINUX_SRC=/usr/src/linux-2.2.19
PCMCIA_SRC=/usr/src/pcmcia-cs-3.1.25
MODULES_DIR=/lib/modules
INST_EXEDIR=/sbin
DESTDIR=(empty)
MAKE_ISA=Y
MAKE_CS=Y

I switch to the WLAN directory and first do a "make clean" and then do
a "make all" which is where I get some errors, before it eventually
bombs out.

Here's a log of my xterm session when I run the make commands, and the
errors that I am getting. Maybe someone can explain to me what the
problem is because I'm at a loss.

problems installing DLINK DWL-650 and the WLAN package under Linux-Mandrake 8.0

Post by Paul Cairne » Tue, 15 May 2001 02:29:29

i also cant install the drivers for this card and unfortunatly cant help
you. I did notice that MAKE_ISA=Y should be MAKE_ISA=N as the DWL-650 is a
PCIMCA card not an ISA card.
