We try to use a Linux-PC as a fileserver in our network with some
Sun(SunOS 4.1.3 and Solaris 2), HP(HP-UX 9), DEC(Ultrix and OSF/1), RS/6000
and SGI Clients.
If I edit and save a file on the Linux NFS-server with the "vi" from a
SunOS 4.1.3 or HP-UX NFS-client, the permissions of the file are CHANGED
from "-rwxrwxrwx" to "-rw-r--r--". This is fatal, if the file is s shell-
script, because I cannot execute it any more.
The Solaris 2, DEC, RS/6000 and SGI NFS-clients work fine!
Equippment:
Pentium 90 MHz, 3C509 Ethernet, Adaptec 2940
Slackware 2.2, Kernel 1.2.6
Any ideas???
