I have Win98 machines on my work network that are connected via DHCP
that is issued by a Cisco ISDN router. What I want to do is access and
mount the win98 shares. How do I do this?

Make sure you have the samba package installed first off, and have it
properly configured. You kernel needs to have support for mounting smb
shares built into it, and youi need to have the netfs service running.
That is probably already all setup if you're using redhat (execpt for
samba configuration, you'll have to tweak that), so the command would be
this:

mount -t smb \\\\win98host\\share /mnt/somedir

It may ask you for a password; enter it or hit enter if there isn't
one. One final note; samba has encryption turned off by default, where
win98 will have it on (win95 won't). You'll need to change the win98
machine so that it will not use encryption. There are .reg files under
/usr/doc/samba that allow you to easily change the encryption setting.
I think getting encryption working on the samba server is much more
difficult then turning it off. I haven't tried very hard either.
